New Camera

It occurred to me that I never got around to letting you know which camera I ended up getting as a Christmas gift from Recliner Man.

We settled on the Nikon D40x. Just after we got it I learned that my niece had just gotten the same camera. She informed me that I am going to love it once I find out what all it can do.  I think she is right. I don’t know a lot about photography and I haven’t cracked open the manual yet, but I’m already impressed. My technique has been a simple ‘point and shoot’, thank goodness this camera is super easy straight out of the box!

I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the images. (Recliner Man informs me that Abbey is on her way to being the most photographed cat in history! I can’t help it, beside the fact that I am smitten with her I love to marvel at all the detail the camera can pick up in her fur.)

And talk about detail…

OK… I think I’m totally blowing the whole cuteness factor now. But isn’t that a wonderfully clear image? I can’t wait to see what it can do once I read the manual and actually learn about things like aperture values and focal lengths. I stole those fancy words from someone else’s blog because I really am just a point and shoot kind of gal.

Chia, you are a most generous and talented artist! Thank you for all the templates and tutorials… I haven’t even seen them all yet. Not only is your camera work cool, but your cat is very cute, quite a good subject…havinf two of my own, I understand the need to photograph them. Fondly, Kim
